Just finished todays rotation of loadshedding.

My ADSL line is so nice and responsive during loadshedding (its on a UPS hehehe)

But for 2 to 3 hours after loadshedding has stopped it is almost unusable, totally unstable, works for 3 min then unusable for 3 min (router doesn't disconnect, just no traffic on the line), rinse and repeat.

Luckily I have my TelkomMobile 10Gb +10GB 3G contract to help me through these trying times.

Just wanted to share my misery.

Will this help? :

Dear Valued Telkom Internet Customer

It has come to our attention that some Telkom routers revert back to factory default settings when the power returns after load-shedding.
We have compiled a quick guide to assist with trouble shooting the problem and aid in correcting the settings on the router to get you back up and running in no time. Click the link below to download the guide.

It's not the router, it's the exchange/DSLAM that has issues I guess with all the router coming back online after loadshedding, my Netgear is fine thanks.

So this what happened to mine,

this happened to me twice already on my netgear router after load shedding, it basically reverts back to factory default.
Had to reset passwords etc to get everything working again.

It's all those updates, torrents and streaming making up for lost time congesting your local exchange.
