This doesnt sound, erm, good? Whats a better word, like "not a good idea"?

Am i reading this right? The user will be charged if he goes over his allowed bandwidth, instead of the ISP simply not allowing further usage?

Okay - fine - but at what rate will the user be charged at HU HU ?
And if the user claims to be under nnGB, and these blokes say the user is over, then THE ONUS CANNOT BE ON THE USER - NOW CAN IT, COS THE USER HAS NO SAY !!

Such a crap idea.

I remember using Kingsley dial up back in 2000 so they have been around for a while at least...

I dont think i'm reading this right, maybe some clarification on how this works.

Should you log off at 27 gig you will not be allowed access.

Wtf are you smoking? I pay for a 30GB cap, and, I just so happen to disconnect before that. I.E. ADSL reset, Computer reboot, power failure... and even if I'm on my 27GB, I can't use my 30GB cap, even though I have 3 GB left?

LOL, You Are TEH SUCK!

The lack of response is troubling. are they maybe changing their operations now? from the initial post by kingsley i saw MANY reasons to not give this a shot, unless i misunderstood.

OK, time for my peanut butter and jam broodjie...

i dont understand if u paying on iburst how do u get 90 gigs

this is kinda dumb surely.. what if I get the 30gb account, pay for the month in advance like normal, then run it up to 100gb then seeing as its month to month, I go to another ISP? contract ends..?

this has the potential to be abused and someones going to lose money somewhere

It seems it will cut you at 30gb - Not that good a service as with others local browsing is ATM still unlimited and you're well within your rights to d/l as much as you want locally so there's no need to do a dine-and-dash.

Mods.. please, let's get a section where these guys can post stuff like this.. as stated previously, this amounts to nothing more than free advertising.

That sounds like a great idea! Maybe the powers that be will like it more if I dont keep suggesting it. :)

My opinion on this is that ISP's should be free to make these type of posts ONLY if they are paying for advertising on MyADSL. Like Axxess, Imaginet, etc.

I personally like seeing the different ISP offerings, but I'm apposed to these guys springing up out of nowhere and freely advertising their services.

Agreed that it would be nice to have a section dedicated to ISP discussions/offers.

Capping/traffic for ADSL

FYI, Kingsley was informed by SAIX/Telkom itself that we will not only be charged by SAIX/Telkom for any usage over the 30GB hard cap they are initiating, but we will in addition be penalised. As Kingsley already makes the bare minimum on our ADSL accounts, it would not be feasible to increase our expenses.

Our SAIX/Telkom account manager "suggested" that we hard cap our users at 27GB in order to avoid these penalties, as it is quite easy for an ADSL user to eat 3GB in a single session.

Of course, the reason we have to take into account the usage in a single session is that we do our accounting based on the RADIUS packets we receive from SAIX on a per-session basis. So there is no way for us to cap our users any finer than an estimate of usage for the forthcoming session.

Hey you guys are so quick to complain  !

I was busy cancelling my account with Kingsley to move over to one of the other 30GB ISP's when they said that they would match the other ISP's 30GB prices! (unfortunalety only until October 2005, when T***** changes the pricing structure)

From me: BIG KUDOS TO KINGSLEY! :D

In any case, 30GB a month is like 10 times more that I have now...

AND T***** WILL skrew all of us come October...

D.

So Web Africa and SAOL must be giving out accounts at a loss? Hmmm, i dont see why ANYbody in their right minds would try and make a loss.
