ADSL - Quellerina Area

Is there anyone on these forums who live in the Quellerina area? If so what type of ADSL lines speeds are you getting?

I just moved here in the Maluti Road area and after installation it appears the best I can get is 384kbps due to distance to Newlands exchange. The 3G connections on all networks is atrocious. How are you guys coping with all of this? Is there a work around?

I am in bergbron just up the road and comfortably sync at 6 meg. I think your line quality must be ***

If line quality is a factor then I assume there is nothing they can do or won't do? Tech mentioned there is a "mini" dslam about a block away from me but they can't / won't connect me to it because I'm in another boundary.

This really sucks massive bollocks.

I know that this post is old, but I do live in Quellerina. I'm at the bottom of Lange avenue, close to MTN.
I'm currently getting 10Mb through webafrica and I applied for a 20Mb line, which will probably take effect next week. What speed are you getting lately?

After a month of back and forth I managed to get a 1024 line, then when the upgrade happened I was able to get 2048. After the upgrade we tried to push it even further, it could sync in the 3Mb space but it was not stable. So for me it's 2048 for now. You are fortunate you can get 10Mb and now it looks like you can even get more. I should check with Telkom again if there is anything they can perhaps do for me. But well done on your situation. I wouldn't mind your line speed.

I am just up the road in bergbron.. syncing at 8 meg no problems...

I'm in Greymont, but if you have a 011477xxxx or 011673xxxx number then you are probably going all the way to the Newlands exchange here

I'm just at the limit for 20Mbps ADSL.

wow never actually realised where the newslands exchange was... i go through there. Currently 8 is the fastest i can sync at.
