Hi,

My line has started resyncing every 2 hours or so. I've also noticed its syncing at approx 3.2MB now when it used to sync at just over 6MB.

I'm in Rondebosch, Cape Town. I believe I connect through the Rondebosch 2 exchange. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Thanks

ye mine has been doing it for weeks now, every so often my lines drops to nothing, i reboot my router and back up to 6mb, but sometimes i connect at 1 or 3 or 4, depends.. just reboot your router.

it is annoying as hell.

Must say after the "upgrade" my connection also seems a bit unstable.

Check your router....whether your modulation is on Gdmt or ADSL2+, if on ADSL2+ switch if possible back to Gdmt, you may lose some of the speed, but will have a more stable connection....Gdmt should be able to handle speed up to 8Megs...-had my line up to 6megs on ADSL2+, faster, but way more unstable....flipped back to Gdmt, syncs around 5megs now....but stable as a rock!!

My SNR is sitting on 6 for both upstream and downstream. Does that mean there is alot of noise on the line? I've never actually paid attention to it before, so I wouldn't know what it was previously :(

Thanks yebocan. Yes it is on Gdmt.

ok....after much a run around by telkom, eventually got someone, that could assist me...when calling 10210, ask them to change your Modulation from Gdmt to Multi Mode--, if you get the classic, pls hold .. going to transfer you to new services....-ask them to check on their view of your profile for GDMT, it can be switch to Multi Mode...let them do that...next let them reset the port...when you resync should be on a Modulation of GDMTBitPLus, should clear all stability issues. Took me a few days to get to this solution, as 10210, have no idea, what they doing, no bloody idea!

Found out my issue was because I still have a Marconi 4 port router from when ADSL first started (lol). I cant cope with the speeds the recent upgrades have brought about.

Help desk may be useless, but I have always found the techies are awesome, they know exactly whats going one and if you give them a timeline, they can tell you exactly whats happened at your exchange to cause your issue.

Anyway, I got the latest Dlink router from telkom and don't seem to have that problem anymore. Also getting 6Mbps where I was only getting 3Mbps before, not that I really needed the extra, 3Mbps was more than enough.
