I'm with WebAfrica and i've exsperience the following problem the past 2 weeks, I I d/l something from a ftp site, it goes full speed, stays there for 2 - 3 minutes and then drops to 0 bytes, and wil get a time out error and start again and repeats the whole process again. Browsing is not to great, gets allot of time out errors on websites. This happens randomly, had telkom test the line for noise and dslam port was tested, no error found.
Using a Netgear DG834 router and a DLINK switch + Netgear switch. Have connected directly to the router bypassing the switch and still does the same thing, and i've use a Mweb account 2 still the same problem and last but not least tried a different pc 2

have tried different ftp sites, have also use the test mode at the telkom/dsl web page and it starts to d/l and after a while it will stop.

Usual tests apply - pickup hanset, listern for crackling noises, push 1, listern for an echo, put down, quickly pickup, listern for crackling, phone time 1026 and shout and listern for an echo.

If at any point, you get an echo or crackling, the line r causing interference and must be fixed. Well - basic checks.

i had the same problem when i had my own transparent squid proxy. Something in it is stuffed up. i assume telkoms proxy's are the same type and might be experiencing a similar problem. what are you trying to download. If someone else gets that same i'd put money on a proxy problem of some sort.
