Hi All,

Try doing a trace with
http://visualroute.visualware.com/

At first we went via London, then NY now we are up to 21 hops, but most strikingly it is via Dimention Data in JHB with a quick detour to IS.

The last 7 hops are all in JHB.
What happend to the Cape Town hub?
What happend to the Telkom Routers?
Why do they keep changeing the route?

The only consistancy I can see is a consistent decline in service and a consistent increse in cost.

Any one else been useint Visual Route as a monitoring tool?

Cheers
Chris

Chris,
I did the same last month and also noticed the variations in routing. I couldn't quite believe it and put it down to my own ineptitude!

Mine used to stop in CT now it stops in JHB at 21 hops.
If I do a tracert to 168.209.98.35, where the Visual Rout stops in JHB it goes via london, new york and Montreal in 24 hops.
total 45 hops?
no wonder my active sync times out every time.

Any one have to tools / knowledge to determine the true route?

Cheers
Chris
