I use SNMP to monitor a managed switch and a adsl router.

We have synchronization software that runs pretty much 24x7. So at night the line is in use.

At about 12:05 in the morning the traffic going in and out of the router shot up to almost 90 000kb/s for about 20 minutes. I knows its a weird anomaly and was hoping someone could explain this.

Its almost like the router went crazy and started hemorrhaging bits and bytes, any explanation for this?

Ok my bad, I just checked the uptime for the routers pppoe interface and it been upt 9h 40 minutes which is about the time the router returned to normal usage, so I guess it was a telkom reset.
