Hi all

I'm looking to buy a new ADSL router. Options are Dlink DSL-2640U and Linksys LS.WAG 120N-EE

Both are ADSL + wireless. The Linksys is wireless N but is more expensive.

I'm leaning towards getting the Dlink, as it's perfect for my needs (normal internet (4meg), Xbox Live and a bit of wireless access now and then).

Am I missing anything? Should I be looking at the Linksys or maybe something else for any reason?

Thanks

D-link are perfectly good. If it fits your needs then go for it.

I am also looking at one.
Seen one at Kalahari (cos i have a R100 voucher) - its a sitecom (wireless N) for R1100. Only brand they stock.

How is Sitecom vs netgear, billion and dlink.

I am in the market for one as well, so will watch this thread with interest. I am predisposed towards a wireless N router seeing that I currently cannot get access in a remote corner of the house - I currently have a wireless G modem/router. I saw one advertised by Esquire - for under R 700.Anyone used an Intellinet router before?

Hey Guys
Decided to get the Linksys. I had a "Mac-tard" moment (OMG it's so pretty, lol). Plus it's only about R100 more than the Dlink, and it's Wireless N. And has internal antennae.
Anyway, will be sure to report back after I've set it up and done some testing.

Update:
OK, got the Linksys - very nice device. Looks good, small, can be wall mounted. Internal antenna is cool too.
The menus are very simple and straight-forward, although it does make me feel like it may be missing some features. Anyway, it has all the basic stuff covered.

One issue - I didn't get "open" NAT on my Xbox Live test, so probably still need to tweak some settings. The router's listed on the Microsoft compatibility list though, so I was expecting it to just work (I really should know better, sigh)

All-in-all, a really nice device, so far.
