adsl router help

i still have a mega 105 from telkom
its about 6years old

is it worth replacing
and can a old router like that make internet speed unstable?
i am a noob in routers so
any help will be good

and how is asus routers?

If you use your wireless connection and your devices support it, I'm sure if will be better to upgrade to a newer router that supports 802.11N. I'm pretty sure the 105 still support 802.11g/b.

As it is your router is bit old and you can rather keep it as a backup.

I live in a small town though and it is not easy or convenient to get hold of a router if it suddenly conks out. In major towns it is probably not that much of an issue and you can use the 105 till it packs up.

i dont really care for wifi
i got a access point point
but over the wifi internet works fast
but with the pc ethernet it slow
about 60% of the speed

can the router be the problem?
