ADSL router issue:

I have a problem. It started yesterday. My ADSL router (Mega 100WR tekom issue with e doBraodband sticker on it) won't connect to the DSL line.

I have 3 PC's at home. 2 ehternet 1 wifi. All connect to the modem no problem.

I can log into the modem and it shows me the DSL is up. The DSL light is also on. Telkom fault line check from their side and tell me the line synch's fine.

BUT ... the modem won't connect to the internet. The only way I've managed to solve it is shut the modem off (power off) for about 30 minutes and then switch it on again. When I do this it connects fine for a while then looses the connection again.

Any ideas?

Have you had bad lightning last nigt, or in the past few days?

What happens when you power cycle it?

Have you checked with ADSL helpdesk (0800 375375) that you're ADSL line isn't faulty? A ring tone on the phone doesn't mean the ADSL itself it working, since they're different networks.

When I power cycle it connects ... for a while ... then disconnects again.

No Lightening. ADSL help desk confirmed DSL is working.

I just updated the firmware to 99.70.4r - maybe that will help.
