Is there a way to change the root password on the Telkom ADSL Router POTS? I'm not talking about the default root that comes out of the box. Someone that works here changed it and now can't remember it[xx(]
I'm not familiar with the OS on this router but I know on a Cisco you can boot into a different mode and change the password locally, not unlike Linux.

TIA

You'll have to reset the thing - hold the button next to the power switch in for approx 10 seconds and it will reset to the factory defaults, with the root password set as 'root'. Access the unit with your browser using IP 192.168.10.200 and change the password to something else - don't forget to set the telnet password as well.

thanks a million.
I guess there isn't a way without loosing my settings.

Thanks again,

Unfortunately not - lesson to be learnt: document everything! [;)]
