Hi,

I asked this in the hardware forum and not the ADSL forum because I think it's better suited.

I've posted earlier and got the reply to the modem/router - but how does a gateway fit into everything ? As mentioned, I have Home384 with 2x PCs connected - and bought a Linksys WAG300N gateway. Is it overkill ? What is it ?

Thanks

Generally gateway=router. Ones that connect wired & wireless LANs to the internet in a secure fashion (built-in firewall) are referred to as gateways. Off course most gateways can be put into bridging mode, then they become a modem.

But dont worry, you got the right thing.
