Hi Guys

I managed to sort out my bosses intenret connection on ADLS last week. NOw my problem is linking the rest of the house to wireless.they have a wireless booster in the house..but when i connect it to the router, the other pcs still are not picking it up. Do i need to do some sort of configuration in the ADSL router or not.

Depends on the model, but usually not.

Does the router it work with PC's connected via cable?

if so, it is probably a setup issue with the access point (booster). Somtimes they need to be configured with the IP address of the router.

Another thing to check is that the access point's DHCP server should be switched off. it will be clashing with the Routers DHCP, thus the client PC's are receiving the correct IP settings

The main pc is connected to the router via cable, and the kids would access the web via wireless. His PC has a wireless card on it. I also managed to see cables that probably link to the booster..I pressume i would be conneting those cables to the router itself?. the router IP address is 10.0.0.2, so would i have to set that IP address also on the Kids' machines?

PS. the router is the mega 200

Have you put the WPA password in the pc's that are connecting to it?
Because as default those wireless routers have one set on them to try and prevent bandwidth theft from people leaving them open...

So i would recommend checking underneath the router to see what the passkey is.
Other than that it might have the SSID turned off but that is fairly unlikely.
you could always get a small omni antenna to boost the routers coverage distance if that is the problem.

there isa booster in the house..i connected that to the ethernet port at the back to boost the signal..the link light is flashing to show some sort of connection, but the other cs are still not seeing this connection. also since the main pc is quite close to the router, it sees the available wireless networks., which is default wlan-ap.And on that screen to view the wireless connections, ther eis an option to setup new wireless network..when i try and do that, it wants me to insert the usb drive for the settings..and if i choose to do it manually, the pcs are not allwing past that screen ,telling me it might not work properly. Is there a way to set up the wireless booster from the main pc, because i connected the booster to the ADSL router itself.
