 hi all,

i logged on to http://adsl.saix.net and noticed that my cap is at 2.8 GB already used...

however, i just opened up the SASA ADSL Stats Analyser and it says i have used 6.7 GB...how can this be???

It seems that if i log on to http://adsl.saix.net it says 2.8GB and if i log on to SASA or http://userstats.adsl.net for that matter... now i wasnt intending on going over my 3GB cap as it eventually gets capped some time during the month, and i need ADSL for my business... now due to the incorrect reading on the http://adsl.saix.net, i have been led to believe that my cap was not yet reached, and my account will not be capped if i maintain under my 3GB limit...

whats going on here??? surely Telkom must replace the bandwidth back to the reading http://adsl.saix.net gave me, or simply not cap me for the month!

THe information SASA gets is from the SAIX systems, and so is that website. Rather strange that they are reporting weird figures. However this is why I have netmeter on my computer aswell :)

6.7GB, you should be okay, just keep light usage from now, and just incase get a WebAfrica 1GB prepaid that will rollover if not used.

Edited:

I am unable to even view bot of those pages above, but SASA does refresh, and SASA is within 200MB of my actual usage (cause thats what I used this session so far) so I would trust SASA

hmm...i wonder why its doing this! i really hope i dont get capped...

cant believe one site shows one thing, and the other shows another thing! i havent even downloaded 7gb of data in this month..only 700mb that i can remember of... impossible that it couldv gone up to 7GB!!

maybe someones connected to my wireless i have setup and using my account...problem is, when i enable encryption, on the PCs that want to connect to the access point, it says limited or no connectivity after i input the WEP key :( so i had to disable it to use the internet on the other PCs

Well both those sites are completely down at the moment. Luckily I have this really cool ADSL counter from ant1body. Tells me no lies :)

Glitch in ISP accounting?

I suspect that there has been a bugger-up in the metering at ISP's.
Currently I'm showing zero correlation between usage stats at SAIX and TelkomInternet, and the TelkomInternet stats are clearly wrong (with a capital EEF).:D
This has been the case for about 2 months now - but it doesn't really matter since capping is random anyway.
All it shows is how ludicrous the sitation is anyway... usage based billing and no way of knowing how much is used.

Only problem I have with SASA is that the stats I get emailed from Openweb for my 30Gb local only account don't match what SASA tells me. According to SASA right now, I'm now at 28.4Gb, and according to the Openweb email this morning, I'm at 30.4Gb. The stats for my WebAfrica account to match up between webafrica's usage stats and SASA, though. Anyone else noticed this with openweb?

OpenWeb should cap you with the figures that SASA gets, it comes straigh from the wholesaler. Internet Solutions in this case.
