Which ISP's use this method? I have heard of people in JHB picking up ADSL "top ups"/scratch cards etc from petrol service(sic?) stations. Is there anything like this in Durban? In particular the DBN North area? As I really need a 1Gb INT top up for tonight (as caps reset tomorrow) and I don't use CC's so OpenWEB etc are of no use...

Ask them to look on the prepaid menu, just below Telkom and Cellular...

I have given the cashiers at my local engen all lessons not only in what is axxess prepaid bandwidth but also how to sell it to me. "Look under counter for barcoded tags, dust them off, find the '1Gb' one, and scan it. See? Easy!" They tell me I'm the only one they know of who buys it...

HAHA! Thats the kind of reaction I always get... you go to engen or pick 'n pay, ask them for axxess bandwidth and the unmistakable look they get on their face makes you cringe and say "here we go again."

But since I no longer have an ADSL line -because in South Africa you are not awarded the privelage of keeping one for longer then 3 months at a time- I now use iBurst, its a pitty really, I did like axxess very much and its unfortunate that I've can no longer use my account.

This does not sound right UNLESS maybe because of cable theft or non payment.

LOL same this side.. no longer using them... Everytime another cashier to teach... just opened pre paid account and top-up with Internet banking transfers...

Easy order the needed gigs on customer control panel and do payment on internet banking cap activated in about 30min time unless it's late at night...
