Hi

If i am already an ADSL customer and I am moving to another premises and the new premises has a (physical) phone line installed. Can I just take my PC , Modem, Filter etc . Plug it in, and ask them to switch my account to line at the new premises and activate it for ADSL , thus saving R400+- on getting a techie to move the line for me..... ??????????????????????????????

Thanks in advance

Yip!

Thats exactly what I did. Asked for a self install and plugged it all in. Phoned last week Monday applying for Self Install - and it was activated by Friday.

Only thing is - I gave them a call to find out when it will be active. They said it is active and that a Techie will be coming round on the 26th to do the installation.

Said over and over again I applied for a Self Install - and all he could say was "oh" and that the order does not state self install. When applying I made it very clear it was a self install - the lady chanced it and when it come to confirming prices she quoted the R404 for self install. Let he know quite firmly that I am not an idiot and it's free. She responded with "Oh Yes - thats correct". Funny.

Be interesting to see if they do try and rock up!
