ADSL Self Install

So my new tel line was installed last week Thursday. On Monday afternoon about 3, I phoned to request a self install.
Low and behold, the DSL light sync'd yesterday lunch time.
I got home last night and internet was not working although it sync'd and router connected to internet.
Phoned 0800375375, got through in 2 min. The guy says that he can see the sync by cannot pickup the exchange. He reckons that they are not complete with the installation yet.

Any thoughts?
 
Only thought I have is... don't hold your breath.

My questoin though, what the hell is it synced with if it is not picking up the exchange?
 
Had the same run of events. Check that the TCP/IP obtains address automatically.
Go START, Control panel, Network conncections, Local area connection, General, properties, Internet Protocol TCP/IP, properties, Tick both the IP an DNS to obtain automatically.

See if you can verify now. The helpdesk had me configure some settings online, but things should be working now.

'Enter your phone number and order number.' Funny that. I was never told about this after ordering ADSL at new address (I didn't need to do this at the old one around 5 years ago). No email, no call, no sms - nothing. Also no mention of an order number. I had to sit for 2 days trying to figure out what was wrong. Finally found the solution. Utterly unreal. Oh yeah, and actually had to bloody call to get my order number... another 5 - no - 50 minute wait to obtain.
