So I'm getting an ADSL line, however no one will be at home to oversee the installation, so could someone please advise how would one go around doing a self install of an ADSL line ? Please list things that would be required for the installation and the process to about it. Much appreciated

Enter username & passwd, the few other things could be set already but seeing as you are rolling your eyes without actually contributing anything let me go one step further,

VPI = 8

VCI = 35

Multiplexing Method = LLC

Encapsulation = PPP over Ethernet

MTU = 1492

Remember to also set up your SSID and its password on the router if you don't want to use the default settings.

AES is the industry-standard encryption method, although that has been cracked according to recent reports.

Also, change all the passwords for the user accounts that can access the router.

The default password for the 'admin' account is also usually 'admin'.

If you leave it on the default settings, someone can port scan your router's IP address and log in to cause all kinds of mischief, not to mention steal your adsl account details.
