Hi all,
I applied for ADSL on 02-Feb-06, a week after, I call them to do get a "progress report", and I ask them what exactly does the technician need to do on site if I have my own modem and filter in place. So the guy on the other side tell me he will convert me to another type of installation, and promised someone else will call me ASAP.
The next day, I get a phone call from another lady from telkom, telling me about the self installation, which "would" (will be sure when i see my bill) save me the installation cost. So I agree to convert my application to a self installation. and she said the installation on the exchange should be complete within 7 days.
on monday 13th, (11 days after original order, or 3 days after the conversion to Self installation) I get the modem and filter and the "welcome letter" in place, so I decide to try my luck. connect everything how it suppose to, and I see the DSL light on, but Internet light is off. So I call telkom to get an account from them (for some private reason, i must have an account with them). Put the account information into my ADSL modem, still no luck. Eventually, I figured out I had the wrong VPI in place. Change it, and then, I am online~
The only problem I have now is, if I call telkom, they say my installation is still pending, and it will take another 2-3 weeks before it will happen. and if I go to telkom site to do verify my installation, it says "installation failed"
so, I am not sure what i should do now...
any suggestion?
