Hi All,
I recently had Telkom install and activate my ADSL subscription for the first time at home.
I have a Linksys WAG320N router and my iMac is connected to the router via ethernet and DHCP. Yesterday I purchased a once-off monthly uncapped account from Openweb which I plan to first test and see if it suits my needs before I choose a more permanent package on debit order. The router connects fine and obtains the IP, DNS, GW etc but I cannot connect to any external sites. I tried to ping the default gateway(assigned to the router) using the routers diagnostic utility and there is no response. I also tried disabling the firewall on both the iMac and router in case it was blocking ICMP packets and still got the same result.
Before I call Openweb support I thought I'd first check here in case it's something simple I haven't done on the router. The configuration on the ADSL side was done via the automatic setup program which inserted all the necessary configurations after I chose Telkom.
Is there perhaps something I've missed ? I'd appreciate any advice on the matter.
Thanks,
Nelis
