Is it just me or is the Internet (SAIX) slow as hell today? Seems like dailup, i'm trying to download a program that's 4mb and it takes forever (5kbp/s is the max I achieve).

It has been like this for a few days for me. Driving me nuts.:(

Cheerz
Voodoo

Yeah afterall a network's speed is determined by the OS of the end user

:p

It's that time of the month again for Telkom ADSL

aaahhhhh, this H ELLKOM adsl is driving me nuts. It's that time of the month again when the ADSL slows down so much, it's going backwards. I could hardly open up this forum page.

It doesn't help complaining to Telkom, or Imaginet (ISP), they all just say the network is fine. Please Neotel come quick and please give better service.

Yes, its all you ous using up the last dregs of your bandwidth! Don't blame Telkom, its your fault that there is not enough bandwidth. How can you expect them to have enough resources to ensure adequate performance when you all do this month after month.

I suppose that because this always happens at month-end, you people expect Telkom to put suitable contingency planning in place?

No way, we try to keep our bandwidth allocations even throughout the month without any nasty peaks and valleys.

Yeah shame on us for dragging out our pathetic data allowance for the duration of the month, and then using the remaining data that we paid for

Telkom provides a service, we pay for it. Get a contingency plan in place and stop acting like such a bunch of arrogant and lazy fscks. It's not enough that Telkom controls the infrastructure, now people who pay to use it get the blame? Congestion is to be expected on a network with a high volume of users. If you can't handle it, hand it over to somebody who can.

Keep to bandwidth allocations when Telkom controls it, having the ability to allocate more bandwidth during congestion? Providers such as IS rely on Telkom via IPC, their users are affected too because of this. Wtf do you honestly think you're bullsh!tting when you don't even seem to know the difference between bandwidth and data allowance (using the term bandwidth when referring to both, in the same post)?
