All Over...
Hi all...I just want to find out if you guys also get such slooooooooow connections today ( internationally )..:-(

Yup, feeling it here. Local sites are fine but cant even get an international page to load never mind it just being slow.

We are on allyoucaneat.

Lag is a bit higher than normal, but after that the page loads fine. SAIX Cybersmart account.

here in pretoria my 1024 is running like crazy

Durban "all you can eat" national fine - international dead

SAIX have said that they are having problems in a few regions.. Durban and certain parts of Cape Town in particular. :(

Location:Durban
ISP : Telkom
ADSL Connection: 192k
Local: connetion -slow
International : slow and at most times not able to connect to websites + Dyndns / dns2go

I'm in Joburg and my international is gone, I'm getting nothing but gateway timeouts...

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: pinging US mud
Minimum = 456ms, Maximum = 586ms, Average = 488ms

So for me thats like about 50ms off what i normally get. I hope the dreaded problems of last month and begining of this one don't return again.. early. Not sure though, but websites are loading slightly slower here not download things so hard to tell.

Do this if you have a slow line---->
In IE go to
1) Tools,
2) Internet Options
3) Connections
4) Lan Settings
.....then under "Proxy Server" add the following

Proxy: dsl-cache.saix.net
Port: 8080

;-)

I take that back, I'm up again. This time my ping time to google is 372ms. I think someone at Telkoms doing something right for a change...

I'm in Cape Town and geting crappy speeds - works for a few minutes and then bombs out the next - I work for a large Internet corporation though, and can say that in the past two days we've been having massive DDoS attacks - sometimes direct and sometimes indirect (ie: either trying to hack our servers or attacks that affect connections from Europe etc).

This could be what is happening here - and affecting the local DSL service.

Just my 2c :)

I didn't have internet today...(Cape Town) nor yesterday. Phoned support and within 30 seconds of giving my number it was working again....
