ADSL slow.

My 384k adsl for the last 2 weeks are very slow. I had a couple of download speed tests to see and it only says its connected at 100k. Sometimes I even got download speeds after a test thats around 450k. Is something wrong here or with telkom??

try resetting the router
also check the line for noise
try another isp as a test

my telkom isp is slow on certain sites, others is fast, its weird.
with webafrica, everything is fast
i dont understand it
 
what sites? what downloads? what times ?where you checking your connection speed?

All information people need to know before they can make an adequate diagnosis... saying sometimes my ADSL is slow is like telling your doctor that sometimes you have headaches.
 
Quite alot of websites are very slow, like microsoft download centre, yahoo and msn. I had a speed test from Gamco and SpeedTest.net. The results was almost the same, but its now faster agian... No probs!!
 
Read the rest of the theads on this forum referring to slow international speeds, that should enlighten you a little.
 
yea man int is slow all day everyday dunno why

i used to be able to watch youtube on 4 meg line, by like the 20th second the whole vid was loaded but now it goes 10 seconds and then buffers grrrrrrrr
 
Been experiencing crappy intl speeds lately - especially with regards to torrents. Averaging about 5 KB/s today - Was around 48 KB/s a week ago :(
 
I am also having speed problems with the office adsl. We are on a Webafrica account and everybody at the office got the same problem. It also happend this week and we tried resseting the rooter but still same problem.

www.myadsl.co.za also loads very very slow and also other websites
 
what is wrong again

i can not download files from overseas - they break off and when it works it takes a teribble long time to download.:mad:

is this happening only in the capetown area?:(

Same here. What amazes me is that the ISP's don't seem to be aware of the problem. WAfrica just told me to call Telkom which I did, but Telkom wasn't aware of any SAIX problems at the moment.
Surely if so many people are discussing the sudden drop in speed of SAIX international on this forum, then someone at Telkom must obviously be aware of it since it seems to be affecting basically everyone?

Here is our Problem.

The International Sites connect very slow and downloads are broken off - I am not alone with this Problem.

I got the 2GB IS account from X-DSL. My problem started yesterday. I can browse My ADSL, but other local sites took like forever to load. I am over my 2GB cap, but this account has 28GB local. I can't even DL todays Whackhead from Highveld.
