ADSL Slowing Down...

Hi,

Is it just me are Telkom chocking us even more. We all know that telskum use "software limiting" but recently I have seen a change on my router:
It used to connect @:

Modem Status Connected
DownStream Connection Speed 2048 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 512 kbps

And now it connects @:
Modem Status Connected
DownStream Connection Speed 640 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 384 kbps

This would be fine and I would not mind if it even connects @ 512 kbps/ 256 kbps as other countries where u apply for and get 512/256 kbps ADSL (and actually get 64KB/32KBsec +- speeds MOST of the time - I've been there don't that thx).
No, with this new connection speeds my download & upload speed has actually gone down quite a bit (+-10KB/sec either side).

And I don't need to hear the crap about contention ratio etc. Firstly, my area don't really have allot of adsl users, and I've used adsl in enough other countries to know this ain't such a big factor (not all the time anyway). This also happened suddenly with the change in connection speed and its not like on day X, 40 adsl users in my area where enabled.

Somewhere (limiting maybe) telkom is screwing me (or us) over even more.

I need some opinions on this please.
