Hi, adsnoob here again.:D Tell me, if me and someone share a adsl line through router in bridged mode, both of us with our own adsl account through axxess, and we both download at the same time, will the speed be half for me and half for him, or will both of us get the actual line speed?(384)

you going to have 1x384k line and 2x axxess accounts? then if you'll download at the same time then you'll will get half the speed or 1 will get more than the other which would be annoying:rolleyes:

im not sure about that but if your both playing online games you4r ping will be much higher. ummmmm does any1 use cybersmart? is it good??

Jip, its one 384 line. Dont think we will play game online, so even 192kbps is better than virgin.

why not use 1 acount and upgrade it to a 512, or 4mb and share the cost down the middle.

prob faster and cheaper for both of u.

We've got 3 peeps on one ADSL modem here on a 384 line, and a server on another modem on another 384 line.

When all 3 of us download at the same time (not through the server) it's reallllly slow, like more then 3 times slower (49.5 KB/s = 384Max), like 11/12 KB/s each, but it seems to stay there, each of us on 11/12 KB/s.

49.5 KB/s split in 3 would be 16.5 KB/s, so there is some overhead loss.

When playing WoW thorugh the single modem, the semi shaped account provides us with 537ms lag, where with only one of us on, it's about 360ms. So, the lag for WoW is not unplayable, but it's close to unplayable.

i.e. The PPP overhead is quite heavy when downloading, and when playing WoW, it's managable.

I'd like to see figures from a 4MB line.
