Is ADSL Download and Upload speed concurrent:

Example on a 384/128 line can I download at 384 and upload at 128 at the same time?

On 56K which is 56/33 theoretically uploading at 33 will leave 23 left for download assuming you are able to get the maximum theoretical speeds. So the question is , is this true for ADSL too or can you get a total of 512Kbit usage on a 384/128 line by uploading and downloading simultaneuosly?

ye its full duplex which means the down doesnt affect the up, atleast thats how the technology should work in practice.

Thanks, Full duplex was the word I was looking for.

Of course I do realise that the was tcp works is the uplink is used for confirmations so in practise your uplink bandwidth is not completely unused in downloads however if it is full duplex more bandwidth to your download.
