adsl speed

i have recently upgraded my adsl line from a 4 mbps to 10 mbps.even with this upgrade i am only getting downlosd speeds of around 4.7 mbps.is this normal or is there something wrong with my line.my service provider is telkom.
any help would be highly appreciated

Did you upgrade the ISP uncapped account speed as well? Try restarting the router.

sorry for the hijack, but it may be relevant, I have just aquired ADSL for the first time .... is there anything that we should change on the router setting (such as MTU) that could improve speeds ?
