Flip. I can not leave the country for 10 months and internet goes down the toilet
I've been at about five places now where they have IS ADSL. Downloading mail from my IMAP account in the UK (server has no shortage of bandwidth). Looking at my network interface performance I'm peaking at 3.2kbyte/s
WTF??
Sending mail presented another problem, port 25 is, not blocked, but routed to their relay. I wish ISPs would stop doing this. If I hadn't checked, I wouldn't have known. Plus my mail would probably never have arrived since I have some tight-ass SPF setup.
So this forced me to do something I meant to do for a while - set up smtp submission on my server (port 587). Which brings me to the next problem. ssh is shaped to hell and back.
Flip, I'm doing better on grps...
