ADSL support - Impressed :)

Well I know its a bit "against the grain" but I was pleasantly suprised to find Telkom's ADSL support very good.

Phoned them at 10 o clock at night and they wanted to send someone round to fix my POTS filter right away. I was actually being dumb and tring to use a splitter instead.

I've phoned a number of other times sometimes late at night and they always seem helpful and quick to respond.

Did I just get lucky?
 
Probably - the weight of evidence from ADSL users actually points the other way. On the other hand, mebbe directives have been issued to be nicer to the public, otherwise we're gonna lose all our customers to the competition in Feb next year...
 
mbs: You are very wrongly assuming that telkom management actually cares about the competition ... I mean they have their fingers in too many pies to make too many losses .. and in worst case scenario, they fire a few more employees and still have enough for 1st class tickets to Tahiti for the top managment ...

I've always found Telkom support to be very helpful and friendly, never had any problems... unfortunately there is the odd horror story here and there but on the whole in my opinion their service is good.. pity about those prices tho [;)]

Yip - once you get through to the right person they're not bad at all (Just dont ask net-tech questions). *sigh* It takes me a while cos I only use the 0800 DSL DSL number and ask whoever i get through too to put me through to the right place (2 many to's). I force teklom to pay for their support.
