Adsl taking a long time too connect

Hi,

I dont know if this is a common problem. We have a smc adsl router which works like a bomb, but it takes for ever to connect, it appears as though it tries at least 5 times before anything happens.

Does this happen to everyone or is it just me>?

Hi

If you turn off the router when not connected and then turn it back on for connection this is likely to happen.

Is this what happens?

thats what seems to happen, as I only do it when there is no connection. Most od the time it just stays on.

Have you tried another router on the line to see if the problem persists? I don't think the line will be the problem though.

This is an ethernet router, yes?
