ADSL technical problem

Hey guys,

I've been using a 2GB IS account since nov last year now. Been working like a dream, but since yesterday somethign weirds going on. The connection would work fine wile I just surf normaly, but as soon as I Open my torrents and let them run for 2-3 hours the line seems too loose sync or something (the ADSL light goes dead, but the PPP light stays on!) then after a while sometimes the ADSL light would come back on and it would loose ppp. The only way to get the connection back up is too reset the modem. This is a new problem I've had my connection staying up downloading for weeks before.

Can any one help me or have any suggestions as too the problem?

It doesn't seem too be heat related to the modem as its still responsive even when all these weird things happen.

I am using a billion 5100S.
 
Seems telkom is sick at the moment... again. Just called the 0800 number and get the message "Gauteng customers ... no browsing ... please be patient". Sigh :(

I've switched to use their proxy server and it seems to be working but only for port 80. SSL, POP, SMTP is still down:

dsl-cache.saix.net 8080
 
daysleeper, I thought so too It stayed up for 4 hours this morning but then the connection crashed again.

This doesn't seem too be a TCP/IP thing on my side, I think its either a DSALM misconfiguration or i've my copper's gotten damaged somehow.

I know some ppl in gautengs been havin probs but i'm sitting in Bellville CT

Like I said, my entire connection goes down, not just 1 or 2 ports or a surfing problem... The modem completely looses ADSL sync.

LOL what a joke, if my line was down how the heck could I post in this thread. MWEB go away. We are so sick of lies, just give us a usefull service.
