Good day,

I am currently on Telkom's UnlimitedHome ADSL package, however fibre has recently been lit up in the area. Is there any way to "migrate" the adsl to fibre on the same package ?
I am concerned about double billing for the adsl and fibre lines, which I want to avoid. I obviously also do not want to cancel the ADSL beforehand and possibly end up without an internet connection for however long it might take for the technician to arrive at the premises.

Hence my question, is there any way to switch from adsl to fibre without any hiccups ?

With Telkom? Prepare yourself for double billing!! Heck...it's Telkom...even triple billing might be possible!! :D

Tell telkom you want to cancel your ADSL line at the end of the month. Make sure the fibre is installed and working ready for the first of the next month, but do it through someone vaguely competent like axxess. At worst you pay a single month's rental on both lines

Thing is I want to stay on the same package as I am with Telkom, UnlimitedHome, except be moved to the fibre option as the line is not quite stable on the copper.

Telkom Direct

Just go into your nearest Telkom Direct shop and let them take care of it
The Home Unlimited package is valid on ADSl OR Fibre
Use your mobile phone or borrow an LTE router for just in case emergency Internet connectivity

There is a thread for Telkom Home Unlimited ........

Why not phone 10210 and talk to a consultant and ask if you can't migrate your line? They basically did this with my parents' ADSL back in the day when fibre became available in their area. They automatically cancelled the ADSL and migrated the service to fibre. It might be a bit different nowadays but hey, if you don't want to phone, inquire at a Telkom shop instead :)
