Hi All, can somebody help me out with my technical query, the situation is as follows.
I have a standard Telkom router connected to my desktop ( running Plex) with all my movies on the desktop, in the bedroom i have a smart LG TV with a network port and I can watch all the movies from the PC on there, but my problem is in the lounge where i have a Samsung TV with no network port, so my question is, is there a way to run a cable from my adsl router to the HDMI port via some form of converter to get the same effect as in the bedroom.
Thanks
G

Yep, get a media player or htpc for the lounge. Alternatively, check if the TV has an Ethernet port built in.

ADSL = network technology
HDMI = video display technology

You can't connect the two...sorta like you can't power your fridge with a bonfire. You'll need some tech in between the two.

You can also use an AppleTV with some trickery from PlexConnect, which would allow you to play from your PC via AppleTV without jailbreaking the AppleTV (which isn't possible on ATV3 yet).
