Hi guys,

I dont know how to search for this, so i guess ill just post and ask... This still confuses me...

I see lots of companies now days advertising 512kb uncapped for pretty cheap.. Now i have got a 4mb line with my standard 3gb telkom account and sometimes the 30gb local from openweb.

Can i use that 512kb uncapped account on my current 4mb line? Will it just run on 512 instead of 4mb? Or do i have to downgrade to 512 in order to use that uncapped account? Please clear this up for me, im confused...

hi you can use it on your 4mb line and download/upload at 512k speeds no need to downgrade

but then its actually a waste of money not to downgrade right?
Cause whats the use of having the 4mb and only download/upload at 512... Hmm, gonna have to think about this one. lol

with a 4 meg line atleast you know u will download at maximun speeds, where as a 512 might be a little less

Some of my friends have 4Mb lines with 512Kb uncapped Express accounts and they get full 4Mb speeds when uncapped, but when you're over the "threshold" you get 256kb speed. The only time the accounts were rate limited is if you get the uncapped accounts with the router.

Thanks for the info sakkie... I see now most uncapped 512k accounts have no thereshold, so that might work
