Hi,

Just wanted to know from the Guru's out there if it is possible to get ADSL upload speeds of faster than 1Mbs and for what reason we seem to be capped at that speed right now?

I can be really annoying for file uploads to Flikr and Amazon S3,

Thanks
Robert

Wikipedia says, max upload speed ADSL2+ can do is 1.4mbit/sec, but then again it also says max download speed is 24mbit/sec, and since Telkom is not pushing the limits that far on this technology, chances are you won't see this anytime soon in SA.

This is why you'd want to sign up for 40Mbps Telkom VDSL :)
40Mbps down / (up to) 3Mbps up

Alternatively use LTE/HSDPA devices via our mobile networks, but it will cost you an arm and leg if you're going to upload GB's of data.

ADSL is a consumer service. That's why the upload is so much lower. If you want SDSL you'll have to pay more.
