im not to sure but adsl is most likely the cheapest option and a 512k line should be fine with that amount of pc's i think anyhow

If it is critical that you have internet connectivity, you have to go for diginet as telkom does not provide SLA's for ADSL (yet). I don't think they ever will as they will loose a lot of their diginet market.
One option is to go for is an (uncapped) ADSL connection with 64k (or more) diginet backup. Run your mail/web servers over diginet and browse the internet over ADSL. If ADSL goes down, browser-traffic is router over diginet.
If you can get a static IP for your ADSL connection, you can run web and mail traffic over ADSL.
You can use dynamic DNS to expose web/mail services on dynamic ip's, but it is not reliable!

Diginet: It goes down, you phone, they *** themselves and they get it working. Generally the SLA has a provision where if the line is down for too long, you get paid for the outage.
ADSL: If goes down, you sit on hold for 30 minutes, and then they ask you to check your DNS Settings. If that doesn't fix it, your fault gets logged, and some guy will phone you around 10pm the next night to help you.

will choke with just emails and webpages? how will 512k adsl choke with 50 pc's?

I’ve got 45 pc's all with Internet access and an e-mail server
Used to have a 64k Diginet line to the ISP cost about R4000.00 incl. Telkom and ISP charges.
Drop the Diginet for an uncapped 512k ADSL line with static ip cost about R2000.00 Incl. Telkom and ISP charges. (It included the Cisco Router)
Running now for 2 months no problems so far, as a matter of fact having less problems with the ADSL line as what I did with the Diginet.
Although I am not running any business critical web sites over the ADSL if that is your intention you will have to look at Diginet.
I am running web access e-mail and Remote desktop connections over the ADSL.
My next project will be to see if I can drop the Diginet lines between HO and the branches. I'm going to run a ADSL line from HO and another line from one of the branches, to the net then run a VPN through the internet with port prioritisation. Holding thumbs if it works will save another R4000.00 a month.
