Just wandering if someone could explain the difference/s to me besides the obvious cost and bandwidth.

I'm more interested to find out the structure and method of connection of fixed line vs ADSL

If there are connectivity issues on ADSL does that mean that there are also connectivity issues on Fixed line ?

If there are IPC issues, is fixed line affected ??

Hi there

Fixed line is a point to point connection between yourself and your ISP. You lease a dedicated circuit from Telkom. This allows your ISP to guarantee bandwidth speeds over that line. The actual line is also far more reliable than ADSL, and Telkom have an entire Special Services department dedicated to Diginet.

Basically Diginet is the Rolls Royce of bandwidth access, and ADSL is the "cheap and nasty".

Fixed line won't be affected by IPC.

With diginet you get a SLa with telkom... so they have to perform and give you service.
