ADSL Wireless reach question ?

Ok, i bought an ASUS USB WLAN adapter, but it has no practical reach in the house. It barely have a signal between two rooms nevermind to the kitchen.
After 4x meters in straight line the signal already drops to 80%.
Returned product.

Before I go to cable, which WLAN apparatus do you suggest I may buy that will actually do the job inhouse, walls and max 20 meters.

I will use this with a laptop[No inbuild wireless], and working to an Marconi ADSL Router=ADSL Premium Combo type.

Any suggestions appreciated...

Lawl ... buy one of demz with 2 aerials and that specifically say 100m range, not 50m.

The 2 aerials help with error correction.
And then ... put the wi-fi transmitter at desk + PC box height, i.e. on-top of the pc on top of the desk.
Aerials must be 90 degree's straight up .. on the recieving end as well.
