hi..

i upgraded my line to 20mbps last week.
here is my line status
down up
Rate (Kbps): 20479 1021
Attenuation : 8.5 5.3
SNR Margin : 14.3 9.7

the maximum speed i can get is 16mbps!

i tried vox fat pipe and webafrica capped, both the same result.
my modem is dlink 2750u.

is that the maximum speed i can get or there is something i can do to improve it?
also could it be the modem?

thanks

well 16mbps is normal

that about 2mb/s and that good for a 20mb line

you wont get full speed due to overheads etc

1mbps=100kb/s realword
where technically it shoud be 128kb/s

i thought that the modem should be changed.

Slightly off topic but by the looks of your attenuation do you by any chance have the exchange where the mailbox usually stand? You are damn close to the exchange....

I get 20 at my office. I can see the exchange from one of the windows.
