Have any of you been to www.adsluncapped.co.za today yet?
They resell UUNET bandwidth. They must have had a busy Easter Weekend :-)

This is what I found:

What do you get?
(1) 1 uncapped ADSL username & password.
(2) Your own domain name, e.g. www.yourname.co.za
(3) FTP access to your domain to upload/download files
(4) 500Mb storage space on your webpage.
(5) 10 Gb Traffic to and from your webpage.
(6) Ability to run PHP/Perl scripts on your webpage.
(7) 10 email addresses with your domain or a catch-all address,e.g. [email protected]
(8) 1 MySQL Database
(9) 7 days a week technical support.
(10) Only condition is NO porn & NO warez sites.
(11) ALL hosting done on our Linux servers. No support for .NET or ASP scripts.

Looks like a great offer to me (R899.00 Incudes VAT). What do you guys think?
I am now very temted to get an account with them now!

Yes, looks very good. No contract for your adsl or hosting!

By the looks of things its shaped on p2p(UUNET Bandwidth) and month to month.

Why you say that?

Cause they probably been trying to screw the public out of their easter eggs? I don't know, people on here makes less and less sense everyday. Either I'm going senile or they don't have the ability to speaka da ingrish

Sent them the following by email :

On your ADSL uncapped website, question #3 it asks “Is 'ADSLuncapped' going threw SAIX?”

When I throw spaghetti at my younger brother, my mom turned around and yelled, “Who threw that?” I then proceeded to haul ass through the back door and into the garden where I then threw the ball around with my dad. His cell phone rang, but the reception was so bad the voice didn’t come clear through the phone, so my dad had to stop throwing the ball around and walk to the house, he almost went through the glass window, but I saw what was going to happen and threw the ball and broke it before he could hurt himself. I couldn’t sit for a week.

Hope you know what I’m on about….

Hi,

I still look for a good offer for my internet cafe. And this sounds just suitable.
Do you know any other services ?
I look of course for the standard stuff like good performance in http and mail but also for services like VoIP (skype) and game servers.
Would you recommend this service ?

Thanks a lot,

O.

I'm capped and having difficulties accessing their site, is it because their site is partly overseas or what? I can access all other local sites perfectly  ? I just don't get it why some businesses are "Proudly South African" yet they host their websites overseas ... defeats the purpose!?!

Sincerely,

Unproudly Capped South African who can't access Proudly South African websites.

please clear something up for me m0zy - do you work for this company? What is the reference to "our" all about? You copy and paste directly from the website?

when UUNET say's shaped on P2P....what does this mean?? currently using :( ISDN and for roughly  R1300 can expect 40gigs(upload/download combined) through torrents monthly.

been thinking of going through UUNET (ADSL uncapped service) but as a torrent user this service would be useless if i can't get @ least 40-50gigs monthly,,,i do however remain optimistic on the future offerings of uncapped adsl in SA :)

As far as I can recall this service is not very gaming friendly. The ping times for WoW are erratic at best. That's what I've heard

could be he just copy and pasted from the website, but yeah it would be good to clear it up.

hmm

No I don't work for them but have been keeping an eye on there website and also on these forums as I am getting my own ADSL line put in sometime this month. That's if Telkom gets there fingers out of there @#$%'s.
I was going to use AYCE but then came across there webpage. I will be using them(adsluncapped) as my ISP as it's a very good offer.
Plus I also plan to do a mini wifi to supply some of the other guys in my townhouse complex and do need a uncapped solution.
And yes I did cut & paste the info from there webpage so don't run me down for there spelling :p

pfff but 1mbit is soooo nice, why cant someone offer a service liek this uncapped thingo but 1mbit adsl, why cant it be done, i'm dying with our broadband situation

Telkom are "releasing" 1 mbps ADSL very soon.

That and an uncapped account will be very nice (but expensive).
