Adult Hosting

Where are you going to get actors and a studio.

Dont do low budget shoots.

Low budget makes it seem more authentic. I've been practicing my "acting" skills, so all I need now is a few bottles of wine and wait for the load shedding to kick in...

Just to add to this topic, the reason you won't find a South African hosting company who allows for hosting of porn on South African servers is because it is illegal.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pornography_by_region#South_Africa

Pornography rated X18 is permitted by the law only if sold to persons over the age of 18 in registered stores. It is an offense to host a pornographic web site in South Africa because of the difficulty of age-verification and the requirement that pornography only be distributed from designated, licensed physical premises. It is also unlawful to visually represent bestiality (also rated XX), but not in text descriptions. Supplying violent pornography is an offence in any form, but the law allows the production of pornography that is not prohibited.

Distribution of pornography is regulated by the Films and Publications Act of 1996 which is enforced by the Films and Publications Board.

I thought that.

Shibjiru.com will be your only bet OP.

(Not that I approve of course)

Porn = Traffic

Traffic = Monies

Just a thought but it's not so simple as this. You actually have to get traffic to make money. As i see it, unless you started out in 1995 or have millions of dollars to spare, you are not even going to list on page 1million?

Someone with experience once told me that it was a complete and utter waste of time to get into porn sites for these reasons. You just can't make a dent in the ocean of content that is out there and also because the only way you will rank is on some niche porn search engines... How much traffic you gonna get there? Enough to keep afloat? So then you will charge what? $100 / month and hope for one customer vs the $1.99 that some other sites charge?

.... Good luck :D

Hey buddy I see that you've made progress and launched your website. That was a ton of effort, well done looks good and people are using it too!

Oh, please drop the euphemism "adult". There's nothing vaguely adult about porn. Just speak straight and call it pornography or sexually explicit material. Adult is something else.

Noob answer, but did you choose a profile picture? As in an avatar ?

My humblest apologies oh great one. Will double check with you the next time I start a thread about adult... oh right... pornographic website enquiries.

What a lol thread, good luck finding stuff to spend your millions on....

You can look at a few local websites, for instance, playboy.co.za is hosted locally, looks like it's hosted with Web Africa. Maybe give them a try? I don't see any rules/regulations disallowing adult content, as long as it's legal.

Child porn, Rape and human trafficking is pretty much the only thing I can think of that will get you in trouble.
