Would it be worthwile playing around with header compression, flowcontrol, error correction, etc. to get better speed on GPRS/EDGE?

I tried the modem compression and error correction settings and found it made my authentication and data throughput slower by almost half.
BUT then I was using my SE V800 phone as a modem for the experiment, for some reason the SE does not like any modem strings either. I get transfer speeds up to 580K using the phone as a modem, I kid you not.

Could you...

Could you run a speed test on the telkom.co.za adsl speed test site and post the results?
Thanks!

Could you run a speed test

OK, it seems today is not such a hot day for speed... I ran a few tests and have cut and paste the screen shots to Word document, give me somewhere to post it and I will.

In summary though I get 360K on Iburst speed test and 360 on Telkom. NetMeter tells me the highest burst was 434K.

The same speed tests with a data card gave me 329K on Telkom and NetMeter burst to 378K
