Advertisements on paid MWEB webmail.

Hi guys

In the last while MWeb has added a flash video ad on the web mail interface. I generally move around a lot between clients and cannot use my laptop everywhere. So I use my email via Mweb's webmail service on the client's system. I can understand that, when using a free service (like on this page), you will see an ad running somewhere on the screen. But I am a R150pm client and assume Mweb is actually making money.

So now they have this very, very irritating ad of Outsurance, of a man bending backwards, playing over and over. Like watching someone's eye being poked out. It is extremely distracting and many times (especially on a 2 screen setup) I just close the damn window.

Is it legal for them to just force you to watch this ad over and over while being a paying client?

Completely legal..

They can do what they want on the webpage..

They could cover it with ads if they so chose... you being a paying client makes no difference.
 
That really sucks.

I have complained to Mweb but to them I am a small fry as they have not come back to me (yet).

As for Outsurance. I hate their "bending backwards" ad. Won't consider them as an insurer.

As for a solution I now go onto the flash video and I just zoom a few times until I cannot make out what is going on. Just a few green and grey pictures now and then. Hope that guy gets a back ache.
 
They have? When I access my mweb email through thier site I see no ads of any kind. Or are you specifically using the "airmail" option?
 
Adblock it? You know that they won't remove it, so take the power in to your own hands and deny them the pleasure of making more money off of you.
 
It really sucks that we have to deal with ads on a Premium service. I can understand this on a free service such as Gmail, but I actually pay for internet and email so I don't want to see ads when I access my email. It's cheap on Mweb's behalf. Making even more money off people who are already paying for your service.
