Advertisers should boycott SABC: Right2Know

The Right2Know Campaign has called for advertisers to boycott the SABC.

It will not happen. Advertisers are capitalists and capitalists aren't exactly motivated by moral issues, as long there remains a captive audience, the advert money will continue to flow. R2K ought to try to appeal to audiences not for-profit faceless organisations.

Nah, this is by no means a solution. Businesses has targets to meet, they utilise the best available mediums to grow their business and in return generate employment opportunities. It is silly and downright stupid to compromise another person’s security. Tomorrow Right2Know will want to know why businesses are not contributing to the employment rate.

Everyone already know where the issue is and that is where it should be addressed.

Big companies have valuable brands and can definitely be swayed by public opinion so this could work

To add, SABC has a HUGE viewership. You and I and majority of MyBB members are affluent enough to afford DSTV and/or tech savvy enough to setup streaming, torrents, media players etc. i'd say 80% or more of the country have no other option but SABC and ETV

I just listen to one radio station while driving, watch no sabc tv.
