Is it possible to perhaps put an advert in the newspapers and business magazines, advertsing the reality to the man on the street about Telkom ? Is this allowed legally, Im sure we can all donate money and raise enough for a few full page adverts!

I think you would be shocked if you found out what advertising costs in a major newspaper are... With 6000 members we woulld each need to fork out thousands

Would it help our cause, to advertise our site and bring people to this forum, most people in this county not in the IT sector have no clue whats going on. If 1000 people donate R50 each thats R50 000!!!

Yeah I would gladly support this. There should be an advertising fund where we can donate. It could either be used for anti-Telkom releases OR for pro-MyAdsl advertising depending on what members prefer. Funds that are collected could be used for monthly small scale advertising or for one large scale public awareness campaign.

We could also get the ISP's involved / donate to this cause. More awareness has to be made.

My girlfiend saw the "Killer ADSL" offer from MWeb on TV and ask why I dont get that... you could imagine my response! Point is, she does not know, like millions out there...

We need to make these people aware that they are being ripped off in a big way. The more people get to hear about this, the harder its going to be for Telkom!!!

I've always liked the idea of advertising, but it's way too expensive. Not only that, we've already tried having a myadsl members donation fund - it simply did not work. For those of you who were not around here 2 months ago, do a search on donations and you'll see what I mean.

Possibly the (current) excess of money generated per month [I think, not sure what the bandwidth figures are] by ads could contribute to a fund?

Just advertising the myadsl web site and inviting people to come and visit should be sufficient. Maybe there could be a 'new users' section to the uninformed of what is happening.
