Hi

I want to start my own ecommerce website and sell computer hardware, software, gps systems and other stuff online aswell now I had a look at improweb.co.za website and it seems to look very promising especialy the live stock feed that shows the stock availability and the ability to import my suppliers pricelist onto the webpage.has anyone actually used them ?The only negative thing I noticed about improweb is they only allow you to use 500 mb of server space and that their monthly fees are expensive.Does anyone know if theres any other companies or someone out there that does the same like improweb on oscommerce or magento thats less expensive

I'll apreciate any feedback

thanks

Whats your total product count ? And how often do you need prices changed and more products added ?

A great example of improweb.co.za service being used is Esquire Online Shop. They just recently relaunched their online shop and it shows us stock availability from around the country. It is checked 15mins according to him so no problems there.

PM Esquire Rep for more info. Also byron_spy can help out too :) ^^

Really convenient now :).

thanks for the replies.

I dont have a total product count yet.I want to be able to upload/import a suppliers pricelist atleast once a week because prices change so often. currently I am registered with esquire and pinnacle I have yet to find a distributor that supplies xbox gaming consoles and console/pc games etc.

whats really important is the available stock feed and product/product price updating. I need some sort of automated system because doing each product 1 by 1 will take way to long.plies xbox gaming consoles and console/pc games etc.

The success if online shopping depends on accurate stock levels, as well ad design etc.

Uploading stock levels periodically is high risk. Especially if either you maintain low stock levels or the activity is high.

Any site that says "stock delivered within 14 days" probably doesnt have site updated on a real time basis because they have to factor into their turnaround the possibility of having to order from a supplier after having recieved an order. In the UK online orders are shipped within 24 hours. I'm not sure about the SA market or your competitors, but if your turnaround isn't as fast then you will fail.

The worse thing that can happen is that you can't meet a delivery date. That will kill your business.

Having someone else host your site adds risk. A lot of risk. Risk I wouldn't take.

I purchased an e-commerce solution from ImproWeb on the 30th June 2014. My website went live on the 5th September 2014. From the time the site went live, there were many issues which needed to be sorted out i.e. (missing logos, incorrect spelling, incorrect information on the site, incorrectly formatted font and sentence layout, search function not working). None of these issues were fixed and ImproWeb were debiting my account for this e-commerce site despite my objections and numerous e-mails. I finally sent them an e-mail on the 22 May 2015 telling them that I wished to cancel the website. I was told that I would be charged a 3 months cancellation fee for a website that still wasn't functioning. In the time that I interacted with Improweb most of my e-mails were largely ignored. The entire exercise was just a waste of money for me and eventually I had to go to my bank and put a stop order on the debit payment to avoid paying for a site that Improweb "refused" to fix. As of today I still haven't heard back from them. Fortunately I have all my correspondence with them saved.
