When phoning technical support if your adsl line is down, do not get help over the phone, cos all they say is turn it off for 10 seconds, or reset, reset is not a good idea, cos this will take your computer settings back to telkom's default settings and if they are not your service provider you will need a technician to come out anyway to reset the settings to the correct ones,charging you, so to save yourself time and money,just insist that a technician comes out, and sort the problem out and stop wasting your time. I did this after having our internet go up and down constantly for over three months, and two technicians later everything is fixed and working consistantly.
So before you phone them do the following: turn the modem off and on, test if connection comes back, if not, insist a technician, someone who knows ADSL comes out and sorts the problem out.
