Advice for newly weds

Hi mybb's

Recently got married to my fiance of 8 years, we have been living together for 7 years and had a daughter of 5 years- yes i know, im a bit of a backwards man :D

Just wondering if anyone married has any sound advice for me?

Thanks!

What has actually changed (other than that you now have a certificate)?

Too late broo

This is whats going to happen .......

Wife will complain you leave the towel on the floor - so you start pickig it up
Wife will comlain about the toilet seat being up - so you put it down
Wife will complain about you leaving empty beer bottles at the braai - so you hrow the empties away
Wife will complain about a certain mate, so you stop inviting him to the house

Then, she will turn around one day and say YOU'VE CHANGED - you arent the man she married!!

Well done on getting married. I may not be married, but I have seen two things that can destroy a marriage:

- Lack of PROPER communication
- Lack of common interests/activities

*Never for get to let your wife know that you care for her and I mean by your actions.
*Be her friend, husband and lover all in one.
*Never discuss important issues outside the bedroom and close the door.
*Never use any child(ren) be used as a tool to pick a fight or get even.
*The bedroom is strictly off limits to anyone except your children unless its absolutely necessary.

Take my advise with pinch of salt, as I speak from observation but no experience.

My advice: relax.

She's essentially been your "common-law wife" since you guys moved in together.

Nothing will change except for a bit of pomp and ceremony and a piece of paper "officialising" your commitment to one another. The love and commitment was there long before.

But congratulations all the same :p

OP are you bored? The topic is moot considering you have been living as husband and wife (and parents) for over half a decade. The only thing that's changed is you now have a certificate to show for it.

This is a bit like someone working as a senior programmer for years without a qualification, now asking for advice on programming after getting certified. :wtf:

Of course it is going to change. The biggest problem ia that women see marriage differently to men. If you have been living together you see it as being more of the same thing. Women are completely different - they see it has having caught you and getting that commitment means you can't just get up and leave. Expect more nagging, moaning and pointless little arguments over nothing. The little annoying things you do that she used to turn a blind eye to will suddenly become the end of the world.

Enjoy your new life.
