Hello everyone,

My girlfriend has just been with Imaginet for a couple years now on a 3Gb capped line. Due to non-payment by her ex (he is responsible for providing internet access) she was just disconnected today and is in need of another option.

Current payments for service are R169pm plus VAT and Telkom. She is needing to find a new plan with equal or lower payments and a VERY low or no connect fee, as business is struggling.

Could anyone PLEASE offer some recommendations as to what she might look into doing here? With me living in the United States, the internet is pretty much our lifeline until we can work out living arrangements so this is kinda important to us both.

Thank you,
Steve

PS ~ I would do the research but really have no idea where to start being from overseas and all....I never had to mess with all these aggrivating steps to get online over here so I get VERY confused by all this, sorry.

Welcome to the forum Mr Whippy / Steve

There are plenty of recommendations on the forum but as a starting point try HELLKOM :)

Also wait for others to voice their personal experiences to help with the decision.

Do let us know if it goes well.

Good Day l Night :p

Thank Yuu :p

I'll take a look around. Panic mode kinda took away my patience that is required for looking up all this info, as its difficult enough being away from someone you care about without running into problems. I'll read some posts and see what I can come up with in the mean time. Hopefully a good option will be found and soon.

Ya know, often I think that SA ain't so bad until I start looking into something like this. I am amazed and sympathize with you folks when I discover what all it entails to actually get something done over there :( No wonder people call me nuts when I mention the possibility of moving there!

Whippy, may I suggest you go to SAOL.com. Prices are great and service is good. Give them a try.:)
