We have a uncapped IS account and an additional ADSL line which is suppose to have a capped saix account for certain people in the company.
Yesterday there were a few outages again, which is a bit tedious when your business relies on things like the internet to make money.
What I'm wondering now, how would you setup 2 lines at once and route certain people through one or the other?
My solution would be to slap in a netgear modem on the 2nd nic of the server and then do "add route" on the server for specific client IP addresses (like the CEO for instance) etc
Then keep the mail running on the uncapped account as per normal while people benefit from the increased speed and redundancy of the other line. This will also help me with remoting to the server when the internet (uncapped) is down.
Any ideas? Has anyone implemented such a setup? Any negatives I should be looking out for or perhaps a better setup?
